If your membership expires, nothing will change on your client websites. Plugins don’t suddenly break. Keep your membership active to maintain access to updates, new tools and bug fixes.

Not at all! 99% of our users never pay us a dime. You can use GSAP for no charge in commercial or non-commercial apps, web sites, components, games, and other software as long as end users are not charged a fee of any kind to use your product or gain access to any part of it. However - If your GSAP-enhanced site/product generates a fee from multiple users (including micro-transactions, subscription fees, etc.), it requires the commercial license which comes with Business membership.

Our paid license is only necessary in projects that you sell to multiple end users. That's it. Even if you charge your client a million dollars for a ‘commercial’ site, it's fine to use GSAP tools under the standard license as long as it's a one-off project.

However - If multiple customers are charged a usage/access/license fee of any kind, please simply sign up for a “Business” Club membership

We firmly believe this licensing model ultimately delivers a superior end product and serves the community better. Open source projects with no funding mechanism typically stagnate and become obsolete. We’ve been doing this for over a decade. Our goal with this licensing model is to keep the tools extremely accessible for the majority while putting in place a mechanism that funds continued support, innovation, and bug fixes. Absolutely, but there are a few caveats: You may not include any of the members-only bonus plugins/classes in your open source tool (for obvious reasons) and you must clearly represent that the GreenSock code uses its own separate licensing model. We encourage the use of GreenSock tools to empower other open source tools.
